Not everyone is the same.  Some people are quite insulin resitant which means they are more carbohydrate intolerant than another person who is insulin sensative.  For the insulin resitant people amongst us, eating starchy vegetables is not a good idea.  In general though, if you are avoiding the processed carbohydrates and all of your carbohydrate intake is coming from vegetables, then the quantity of carbohydrate is naturally limited as it is attached to fibre.
